Welcome to the 2021 spring/summer programs page for the Academy and Competitive programs at Ottawa TFC.  All of our programs are offered at both our Gloucester and Orleans locations.  Sign up for the program that interests you at the location most convenient to you, and join one of the strongest youth development programs in the country. 

COVID-19: While we are all keen to get our new season started, the health and safety of our members remains an important priority.  Our club has developed extensive and robust COVID protocols and all of our programs abide by all municipal and provincial health guidlines.  All programs run in compliance with Ottawa TFC return to play protocol.

U9-U10 Mini Academy

The U9-U10 Academy program follows Ottawa TFC's talented player pathway, moving players into our provincially and nationally acclaimed Junior and Senior Academy programs at U13 and older.  Many players who started out at this level with the club, have gone on to become successful players, athletes, and people.

The program is the exclusive Eastern Ontario affiliate of Toronto FC of Major League Soccer, the highest professional level of play in North America.  Our Academy forms one of the most respected development programs in the province.  

Program Details

Soccer Age

Open to all U9-U10 players (born 2012-2011).

Players are grouped by age and gender into teams/training groups. 

Season Length 

16 weeks beginning in June 

(week of July 26 is off for mid summer break)

Format

Pre-season/Spring Training: Pre-Season Virtual Challenge (ended June 1st) 

In-Season (June 14)

  • Twice weekly Technical Training on grass 
  • Once weekly Competition day:
    • Comp Day Rotates weekly between Gloucester and Orleans Campuses
  • Once weekly league/game playe (7v7 format)

Cost

Prior to attending any evaluations or training sessions, players must register for the following programs:

Base Player Registration Fee: $235.00 

Evaluation Fee: $50.00 (non-refundable evaluation fee)

*Current (winter) Academy and Competitive players do not need to register for the evalauations. Rec and New players must register for and attend evals.

Non-Volunteer Fee: $50.00 per family per season fee that is refundable after volunteering


Academy/Competitive Fees:  An additional Academy or Competitive fee will apply once the players have been placed and accepted positions in training groups and teams.  These range from $300 - $600.00 depending on the commitment level and volume of training/play.

Team fees: 

Team Fees are determined by each team/group individually. Team fees cover team specific expenses such as tournament/festivals costs, team building costs, incidental team by team costs, etc. Players will pay this through their team manager.

The U9-U10 Competitive program is for players looking to train and play regularly in a fun but comeptitive environment.  Teams/players train together twice weekly under the tutelage of our acclaimed academy staff, and play in local competitive leagues against other clubs in the region.  Players in this program regularly move up to our provincially and nationally acclaimed Academy programs, or simply spend years in the program developing as players and people while enjoying the sport at a competitive level.

U11-U12 Youth Academy

The U11-U12 Academy program offers the most professionally run soccer development program available to players in Ottawa. The program boasts a highly qualified coaching staff, including several nationally and internationally licensed coaches, a curriculum that includes an emphasis on leadership development, and a proven formula for developing technical skills in young players.  It is the only program directly affiliated with Toronto FC, Canada’s most successful professional team, with regular visits to our club from Toronto FC, and a direct pathway for talented players to the professional and national team setups in Canada. 

Players from this program have regularly developed into top provincial and even national team settings, and countless players have gone on through our Jr and Sr Academy programs into University and professional settings.

U13-U14 Junior Academy 

Our U13-U14 Junior Academy is a year-round program that offers our highest level of Academy training.  It is coached by our Nationally and Internationally licensed coaches, and features a one-of-a-kind, European style academy structure, whereby players train Monday to Friday after school, and play games on weekends.  The Academy consists of our OPDL rostered players who compete in the highest level of provincial play available.   Teams in this program have won National and Provincial gold medals and are amonst the best in the region every year.  

This program is the exclusive Eastern Ontario affiliate of Toronto FC of the MLS.  The program attracts regular visits from TFC’s academy director and coaches, and offers a direct pathway for players into the TFC academy, and the professional and national team ranks.

Outdoor Training: (Early October - Mid November) 

  • Monday to Friday, 4:00-5:30pm @ Millennium Park

  • Games on weekends @ various locations

Indoor Training: (Mid November - Early March)

  • Monday to Friday between 4:00-6:00pm @ Gloucester Superdome  

  • Games on weekends @ various domes
