U9-U18 Rec Tech (Players born in 2014-2005)

OPEN LEAGUE

First steps... Who is Ottawa TFC?

Ottawa TFC is honoured to introduce the beautiful game of soccer to your child.  Recognized as a National level club by Canada Soccer, the aim of our Open League programs is to have your child enjoy playing the game in a fun, safe and social environment.

What is the Open Rec Tech program?

The Open Rec Tech program is a weekly skills development session run by club coaches and our top technical assistants. Players are grouped on the actual day by size and ability, and work through various ball mastery, core skill, physical literacy, and small sided exercises (1v1, 2v1, 2v2, etc).

At Ottawa TFC, we place an enormous emphasis on teaching and inspiring the youth players of the club.  One of the regions very few National level clubs as recognized by Canada Soccer, Ottawa TFC takes pride in developing homegrown players from the local community and helping them grow into top athletes.  In recent years, this philosophy has helped us build one of the most respected clubs in the province and country. Game play is included in the program, of course, and basic playing concepts are introduced, but the emphasis is on technical soccer skills and physical literacy (overall athleticism).

What can I expect as soccer parent?

The sessions are a fun, productive and popular combination of training and games led by young technical leads and some of our competitive and academy level coaches.  Your kids will work hard, and improve on the core skills needed to play the game.  This program combines well with our 4v4 small sided leagues that take place right after the skills center.

More about the program...

Open Rec Tech weekly technical sessions combine game play with technical and physical development appropriate for children at these ages.  Players are grouped by age and gender. The sessions themselves are run by our most talented senior youth players, who are beginning their coaching journey at the club. The coaches are trained and licensed through Canada Soccer, and guided/supervised by our academy staff coaches.

The program pairs well with our 4v4 League that runs right after the skills center.
